The Art of Journaling

Do you journal?

People journal for so many reasons…self-reflection, emotional release, creative expression, health and wellness, personal development, and problem solving just to name a few.

I love journaling and I have several that I’m currently using each for a different purpose. First, I have a daily journal where I write my daily happenings. Then I have my author’s journey journal (say that five times fast). I have tracked everything about my author’s journey since it began. And then I have a gratitude journal. In my gratitude journal I write a minimum of three things, per day, that I’m grateful for, outside of waking up, food, clothes, and a place to live. And when I’m having a crappy day, I pull out my gratitude journal and look back at those things that I’m grateful for. It’s a spirit lifter every time.

Other types of journaling include…

~Creative expression: This style of journaling offers a blank canvas for your thoughts and creativity. You can experiment with different styles, such as bullet journaling, art journaling, or mixed media (combining drawing, painting, and writing), allowing for a fun and creative outlet.

~Memory Keeping: This journal serve as a personal archive. It’s fun to look back at old journals and reminisce about past experiences or see how much you've changed over time. It’s like having a book series of your life!

~Goal setting and reflection: Journaling can be a playful way to set goals and track progress. You can create vision boards within your journal, track habits, or reflect on the steps you need to take to achieve your dreams.

And the coolest thing about journals is…

There are NO rules! You can misspell words, scribble in an array of colors, glue pictures, or do whatever suits you. It's a judgment-free zone that is yours and yours alone!

Journals vary in size, shape, and purpose. Let’s see your journal(s). Post a pic in the comments.

And guess what? If you don’t have one, you can order one on my website. Yep, I have created several journals designed to meet your unique journaling needs.
